I am Ramanathan A R. I was born in the Village, Arangotukara-Ezhumangad, partly under Trichur Dst and partly under Palakkad Dst, of Kerala State. I had my education up to 7th standard in the upper primary school of Arangotukara and completed S S L C from the Government High School of Varavoor.

I studied the First Year Science from Ram Narayan Ruia college of Matunga, Mumbai.  I did not complete graduation and went to help father in his business. for about 2 years. Later I went back to Mumbai and jooined services.

My 1st job was as assistant in Rashtriya Metal Industries, Andheri, Mumbai.   The next  job was as Assistant Manager in M S Patel & CO, Powai, Mumbai. Then I joined L I C of India and my services were transferred to the New India Assurance Co Ltd in 1971 after nationalisation of the General Insurance Industry. I was transferred to Bangalore and after retirement settled down in the same city.

My hobbies:

Reading of books and periodicals of politics, social, classical novels, short stories, detective stories, thrillers etc

Electronics: I have assembled radios, amplifiers, speaker systems, various sound circuits, insect repellents, sound operated switches, light operated switches etc.

Gardening: growing plants, grafting

Social service:  Formed associations to keep the village clean, recreation, housing layout formation,  Unions and other associations for different purposes.

Music: Listening to carnatic classical, instrumental, lite musics, classical cinema songs etc

Homeopathy:

I have done a certificate course from the Grace Medical Mission, Mavelikkara, Kerala and a diploma course, D I Hom, from the British Institute of Homeopathy, London. I give suggestions to those who approach me.
